Fitting
Tutorial for the v4 PS 2 R Key.
This tutorial is intended to guide you through the process of
installing the R Key in your UK v4 console. To identify your console
version, check out the FAQ/Support page HERE
Before ordering your R Key, we recommend that you follow the
Tutorial and open up your PlayStation 2 and have a look at the connection
points. A few minutes now could save you a lot of time latter. So many of our
customers purchase their Mods from us only to discover that they don't feel
confident at fitting them.
Make sure that you read all of the info before you start, and
set aside an hour if you've never fitted one before to avoid any foul
ups. (Getting rid of the wife and kids also helps….)

Installation:
(1) Please prepare a
screwdriver and a tweezers (for the flat ribbon cable).
(2) Unplug the power
of your PS2 console. Turn over the PS so you can see that 8 plastic covers as
shown in the picture.
(3) Remove the 8
covers and unscrew the eight screws.
(4) If there is a
sticker on your consoles, remove it as shown below.
(5) Remove the upper
part of the PS2 case now.
(6) Remove the power
and eject buttons as shown in the following illustration:
(7) Remove the
screws as shown below to remove the lower casing of the PS2 console:
(8) From the left
side of the CD tray, you can see one flat cable and three 2 pin cables.
(9) Gently unplug
the flat cable and the pink 2 pin cable on the right.
(10) Insert the two
removed cables into the mod as shown below.
(11) Now connect the
Mod to the main board where you previously removed the two cables.
(11) Re-assemble the
PS2. No soldering was required.
